60th birthday decorations - extra

Here are a few more photos of decorations for party.

Once again, photos dont depict what everything looked like on the night with the votives flickering and correct lighting etc due to problem stated in previous post.

Votive holder - a very very old jam jar decorated with lace and fabric trim

A pair of vintage leather baby shoes

Tiny little velvet roses in a cute little bottle

Repurposed salt & pepper shakers (stand only about 2" high)
the salt shaker (on the right) is quite damaged due to corrosion from the salt over the years
I cleaned it up the best I could, but quite like the end result

Close up of the letter 'R' as described in earlier post

Orchid arrangement from Cheryl
Just stunning!

Found the very old candle holder and re-purposed
to hold a flickering votive candle
Decorated with some beaded fringe and velvet flowers

Another view of tiny S&P shakers on a wooden cotton spool
the flowers were cut from a punch and threaded onto a sewing pin
coloured the pearl tips with copic markers

One of the photos I did not 'lose'
a vase of baby roses in two shades uplit from the
bottom with a LED light platform  - very effective

60th Birthday party

Thought I would start to add some of the photos taken at my recent 60th birthday party.  The theme was vintage and I had lots of  fun with the decorations.

The cake looked magnificent and was absolutely scrumptious.
Chocolate cake baked and decorated by Robyn (daughter-in-law of my daughter's godmother)
Robyn also provided the fresh flowers which were wired and ready
to be placed on the cake

This was our 'befores'
the caterer's excelled with the camembert 1kg camembert cake which was split in two,
covered with cream cheese and fresh grapes.  The top layer was
then added with more fresh strawberries and grapes -
just beautiful - and yummy

Front entry 'welcome' table
The urn holds tree branches gathered from our yard which I painted with ivory paint and then added home made flowers here and there
the 3 canvas stands were made some time ago with the theme
of 'buttons'  (refer to earlier post)

Found the old typewriter under my husband's desk and thought it
would make an appropriate prop for the welcoming message
I tinted  the glass vase (see earlier post) and then added beautiful lace from
Bella Paperie and an old brooch found in my stash

found the ice bucket we received as a wedding gift
and cleaned it up to hold the silk flowers.

I re-purposed this old candle holder
added a cork where the candle would normally stand and decorated the
surrounds with lace and beading
Added a pin and then a collage of old photos

close up of the welcome sign
mounted a 12x12 piece of burlap on to canvas board
Printed the greeting onto sticky back canvas (using 'my old remington' font)
Added some bead trim and a spray of velvet flowers

Corner of the drinks table outside
Covered a terracotta pot with lace and made the flowers using
tissue paper and then
added some ribbon trim and an embellishment from my stash

an old coffee jar covered with lace, pearls and a flower standing on mirror
coaster held the votive candle
The letter 'R' covered with old book and music paper, and added some lace, flowers and
fringed beading

the decorations looked much better at night when all the little votive candles
were flickering and lamps and lights dim
Unfortunately, I updated the software on my iPhone before backing up
to my computer so lost a lot of photos and recent contacts
a very hard lesson to learn
