Hearts on Canvas

This is a project I have been trying to complete for some time and put the finishing touches on the three canvasses today (which were made as a set). I think Christy's original tutorial called for either 5x5 or 6x6.  I used 8x8 as that was all I had in my stash at the time.

The hearts were created by dying white tissue paper with Adirondack Color Wash Sprays in Cranberry, Sailboat Blue and Lettuce.  Christy gives a good tutorial on how to cut the tissue into little squares and adhere to a piece of heart-shaped cardboard..

I decided to add lace from an old dress (bought on ebay for craft purposes) and added a little to the front  and then all round the sides.  I am happy with the overall effect the lace gave to the project.

The background on all the canvasses is  very old book paper

All all canvasses, added some Tattered Angels Glimmermist of varying shades to the tissue paper  as well as some stickles. Printed the words on sticky-back canvas. added a little brass heart to each of the large hearts. Dotted the finished canvasses with drops of Adirondack sprays in the 3 colours and 'smooched' around the edges.  Used a variety of stamps on the backgrounds as well.

PS: 27 Feb 2012
Delivered canvasses which are aptly named Family, Love, Comfort,  to a new and very deserving home.
