Precious baby

I finished this special project for the family of an adorable foster baby. All the elements I wanted to use came together very well i.e. white gesso, machine sewing, hand sewing and different textured flowers, some made and some not.   Unfortunately cannot show you the whole of the finished page due to privacy reasons, but I was really thrilled with the result and it is one of my 'feel good' projects and a favourite of mine this year.

I have been looking for major mojo and I think with the finalisation of the massive clean out and tidy up of my craft space completed on Saturday has actually helped the process.  It was an absolute dream experience to look for something, find it, use it and put it away and end up with a reasonably tidy space at the end of the project . . . and did I mention the spaces on the tables that I could actually work on . . . heaven  :) and have somewhere for the papers to dry when sponged with the gesso!

Here are glimpses of the finished project

This is towards the middle of the page.  The ippity stamp is from the set Fall for you and is an absolute favourite of mine at the moment

bottom right hand side.  Because the lace has quite an open weave,
I machine sewed this on to the paper layers as well and loved the result

Avocado

I was looking through my stamps to find the right sentiment for a card and stopped for lunch.  This is the card I made and the sentiment I used:

Photo doesnt do colours justice

and this is what happened when I was preparing lunch!

Amazing !!

Just because card

This card came together because I wanted to see what an all white and silver card would look like and I was keen to use my Paper Artsy stamps

Friendship card

For a fun challenge, we had to use a Page Map card sketch as follows

I came up with this Friendship Card because I wanted to try using Gesso on the background (as demonstrated by a friend recently).  This is the finished result:

To put this together I used:
Cardstock - Bazzill - cream and brown
Patterned paper - Making Memories 'Paper Reverie'
Tree - die cut from 2Crafty (stamped with 4 different Tim Holtz distress inks) with a touch of Copic E44 marker
Embellishment - Vintage Findings - Twin Birds
Lace - from stock
Patterned ribbon - Webster Pages
Twine - general
Ribbon - hand dyed wrinkled rayon - Midnight Black & Blue
ippity stamp from 'Fall for you' series
Extras - white Gesso; Stampin Up Champagne shimmer paint mixed with Isocol
General - dimensional dots

It is hard to detect the soft shimmer from the photo.  I stamped the sentiment 'laugh with your eyes, hug with your soul and smile with your heart' and then sprayed the mist, so the ink did smudge a little unfortunately - adds a little to the 'shabby' look tho.

The Pyjama Foundation

Hi everyone

You may or may not be aware that I volunteer as a Pyjama Angel (read and interact with a foster child once a week).

This year the Foundation are having their Pyjama Drive from 1-31 March inclusive in time for the children to have their new PJ's by Easter. All pyjamas must be new (with tags if possible, for ease of sorting), preferrably summer wear and suitable for babies and beyond.

If you would like to assist in this regard, and would be willing to pass this information on to your family, friends and work colleagues, that would be fabulous.  Last year 7000 pairs of pyjamas were collected and distributed and the aim for 2011 is 10000.

If you would like more info with regard to this organisation, please go to http://www.thepyjamafoundation.com/

If you would like to donate to this worth cause, please contact me . . . thank you
