Owl Project - 2nd Birthday

A friend asked me to make a birthday card for her daughter who is turning two this week.  She is obsessed with owls, so that was the theme.

I used a pattern from PaperShapez for the Owl box and decided to make the card into an interactive book with owls, butterflies, trees and animals throughout.  The designer paper is from 3 Bugs in a Rug - Savannah - Land of Make Believe.  Love the soft colours in this range.

The gift box is on the left and the 'card' on the right
Side on of the 'Owl' gift box

Close up of projects

As you open the pages of the card, there is a letter on each page spelling out her name

This is a view of the spine.  Made the book so that it would 'stand up' on a shelf

Ready for the birthday girl :)

Looking forward to getting back to some Copic colouring soon.  More on that later.

  1. Rita,
I LOVE the OWL!!! Wow!! Please Teach me, he would look great on T2T retreat!!!
    Cheers Tamara

  2. could give you a copy of the template and then everyone could create an owl and you would have a whole family. Hey - what about having an 'Owl' wall (instead of business cards) everyone that comes to their retreat could produce an owl in the medium they are working on and you could mount them on a feature wall - yeah - way to go !!!!
